Salvaging Softplastics

What can you do if you are about to run out of your favorite soft plastics, or when you are in the middle of fishing and the fish are mangling up the hot bait of the day?
With a lighter, heat up the worn out part or tears, and just squeeze them back together. They are ready to be reused.
For badly mangled softplastics, you can still reshape and recycle them.
I recently did this on swimbaits, when the lead weighed hook started to pop out. Just take out the orig hook, cut the rubber body to desired shape and heat it up with a lighter. When the rubber starts to melt, squeeze to seal them together. Insert jighead and voila, a DIY recycled swimbait.
