Working with Wire

Posted on 19. Mar, 2009 by Kitster in Do It Yourself

This is me rigging a rapala type lure for casting or trolling (more or trolling actually). you will see how short my leader is…not more than 6″. that’s the smallest yo zuri hydro magnum, a bit smaller than a CD14.

Also note the knot I’m using, you wont find that in any book…I don’t have a name for that knot, and I think I may have been the one who invented that, for those who think I’m wrong, please correct me. I’ve been using that knot for about 7 years now.

It sure does work a hell of a lot better than an albright. It doesn’t bubble up (create bubbles when you troll ) because its not bulky.

Hi there! I’m John and I had my first fishing last Sunday at Caylabne Bay. Just very lucky with a 500kg “Talakitok” catch as a beginner’s luck.

I was advised by somebody that I should install a wire leader.

Could you let me know what suitable wire material and size to use, where to buy and proably some other references of making the leader.

    Thanks
